Dr. Mark Wieland, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Wieland is a native of Pinellas County, married with three children. He is a 1985 graduate of National College of Chiropractic in Lombard Illinois with 20 years of experience practicing in Pinellas County.
In January of 2005, Dr. Wieland joined with Dr. Thomas Hughes to form Advantage Health & Wellness Center, in St. Petersburg, Florida. The clinic features full service chiropractic care also utilizing synergistic therapies including Pilates and yoga classes, nutritional and diet education. The large therapy room host the Pilates and exercise classes in a comfortable semi-private setting for an individual approach without the crowded masses experienced in the gyms.
Dr. Wieland’s clinical emphasis is in utilizing low-tech, functional rehabilitation along with traditional chiropractic care in the treatment of accident/injury cases as well as more typical musculoskeletal conditions. He has completed the three-year Diplomat course in Chiropractic Rehabilitation through Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as well as over two hundred hours in advanced orthopedic training.
Dr. Wieland has participated in Professional associations for many years dating back to his days at chiropractic school. He became involved with the Florida Chiropractic Association beginning in 1981 as a student member and is currently serving on the Board of Director representing the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society. On the local front he has been a member of the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society for 20 years serving on the Board of Directors since 1990 in various positions including President. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the ACA Council on Physiological Therapeutics and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Tom Hughes, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
In addition to traditional Chiropractic education, Dr. Hughes has over two hundred hours of advanced orthopedic training and extensive postgraduate training in physical therapy and rehabilitative exercise techniques. He incorporates this advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of patients who present with injuries from automobile collisions, participating in sports activities, work, over doing it on the weekend and other typical musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Hughes earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2000 from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. In January 2001 he was granted his license to treat patients in Florida and began working in a clinic where he met Dr. Mark Wieland. In January 2005 he and Dr. Wieland formed a partnership and opened Advantage Health & Wellness Center.
Dr. Hughes was born in Lafayette, Indiana and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He returned to Indiana to attend Purdue University, where in 1983, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He spent 12 years managing restaurants and resort hotels in Florida, Colorado and South Carolina. He had been under Chiropractic care for occasional low back pain since the age of 18 and in 1995 decided to change careers and attend Chiropractic school.
Dr. Hughes has always participated in associations related to his profession whether it was the hospitality trade or Chiropractic. He is currently a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Florida Chiropractic Association and the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society. He has served on the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society Board of Directors since 2002 and was President of the Society in 2006.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and sports, listening to music and playing golf.
Dr. Reinhardt, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Reinhardt was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He went to Southern Illinois University – Carbondale where he received his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. In 2010, he received another Bachelors of Science in Life Science from Logan College. Dr. Reinhardt graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2012 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic.
Dr. Reinhardt has successfully treated many headaches, disc bulges, joint pain, neck & back pain and sports-related injuries. Some common treatable sports-related injuries are shoulder pain/impingement, sprains/strains, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, shin splints and concussion management. Dr. Reinhardt judiciously examines everyone and finds the reason behind the pain. By supplementing his hands-on approach with patient-specific physiotherapy and rehabilitative techniques, he is able to accelerate your recovery and performance. Through incorporating spinal stabilization and functional movement screenings as the foundation for your care, this will allow you to achieve greater results. It is not enough just to get you out of pain. Every patient’s goals are to maintain being pain free while returning to their dynamic lifestyle.
As a previous collegiate athlete, competitive bodybuilder and ACSM certified personal trainer, Dr. Reinhardt has experienced both sides of many injuries and their progressions. His background includes working with nationally renowned sports physicians; Dr. Reinhardt has had the opportunity to treat many collegiate and professional athletes early in his career. He currently works with physical therapists and personal trainers in the Tampa Bay area to help with injury prevention & recovery as well as to accelerate successful personal goals.
In his free time, Dr. Reinhardt enjoys volunteer work at local high schools, helping athletes with their injuries and performance goals.
